Frequently Asked Questions

How would you describe your style?

I consider myself a natural light portrait photographer with an appreciation for photojournalistic style. What does that mean? Well, I combine lifestyle photography with classic portraiture to produce a combination of naturally posed photos and candids.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! Return clients get 10% off all full priced sessions (excludes mini sessions).

When and how are our photos delivered?

Your photos are delivered directly to you within 4-6 weeks in a private online gallery. When your photos are ready, you will receive an email with a link to the gallery of images, plus a password that allows you to save all of your photos directly to your computer or hard drive. As technology is always changing, I do not deliver via CD or USB, but encourage you to download and backup your images! Galleries will be hosted for a minimum of one month from the date of delivery.

Can we have the RAW files?

RAW files are not representative of the work you hired me to do. If you ever wondered why a quality photographer seems expensive for 1-2 hour sessions, it is because the post production of those raw files take a considerable amount of time to edit.  Therefore, I do not show or provide RAW files to clients.

What should I wear?

First and foremost, I want you to be comfortable and like what you are wearing. I ask my clients to generally avoid wearing matching outfits or the same colors. I recommend wearing solid pieces and color coordinating with one another. I also suggest to be mindful of your environment. If you are shooting outdoors near evergreen trees, you should avoid wearing dark green so you don't blend with the background. I am always happy to provide guidance so if you have questions, just ask!

When is the best time to photograph maternity or newborn photos?

Some recommend 30-34 weeks but for me it totally depends on you. Both my pregnancies were vastly different and I could have easily photographed my first bump anywhere from 30-39 weeks and 20-30 weeks for my second! The goal is to see a noticeable bump but also keep you comfortable during the process. I will ask you a few questions during our consultation and we will determine a timeframe which suits your schedule and comfort levels, but for general consideration, let's say 27-32 weeks.

Newborn photos are best when baby is fresh from the womb and super sleepy, ideally within the first 14 days of life. However, births are unpredictable and my priority is to maintain a STRESS FREE environment for the family. If you need more time to settle back at home or you're just not ready to have your photo taken, I completely understand. Give me a call/text when baby is born and we will initially schedule for the first 7-14 days. If for some reason the set date becomes difficult, we can reschedule up to 1 month after delivery with the understanding that baby's growth may not permit certain newborn poses (e.g., wee swaddled baby in basket).

Do you offer print services?

At this time, I have decided to exclude prints from my list of services. I personally never liked the pressure to purchase prints and when I did want prints, I usually just wanted a few for picture frames to decorate my shelves. I also found printing prices to be too high from most photographers.  However, I am happy to consult or edit photo sizes for you if you want to print something special.
